A shuttle system, also known as a pallet shuttle system or a pallet
runner system, is a material handling solution used in warehousing
and distribution centers to automate the movement of goods within a
storage rack.
A shuttle system typically consists of the following components:
Shuttle Device: The shuttle device is a self-propelled platform
that moves horizontally within the rack structure. It is designed
to carry and transport pallets or other storage units. The shuttle
device can operate autonomously or be controlled remotely by an
operator.
Rack Structure: The rack structure is similar to traditional pallet
racking and is composed of upright frames and horizontal beams. The
shuttle system is compatible with various rack configurations, such
as selective racks, drive-in racks, or push-back racks.
